The Tivoli
WARNER BAXTER IN “MAN ABOUT TOWN”
For some obscure reason, Washington, D.C., a natural setting for romance, has seldom, if ever, been used as the background for a motion picture. New York, London, Chicago, Paris, San Francisco and Berlin have ail served as the locale of many a screen offering, but the films seem to have fought shy of Washington. With several of the major studios, however, following the lead of the Fox company in preparing talking dramas laid in the nation’s capital, this situation bids fair to undergo a change in the immediate future. “Man About Town,’’ the first of these productions, is said to gain much in interest and entertainment from its realistic Washington setting. Warner Baxter and Conway Tearlo have the leading male roles in this Fox picture, with Karen Morlcy as the leading feminine lead. The two men enact the parts of secret service officials whose lifelong friendship becomes strained when they discover they are both in love with the same girl. “Man About Town’’ will make its initial appearance at the Tivoli theatre, Feilding, to-day. There will be a matinee to-day at 2.30 p.m.
