“Lucky Girl” Starts Season on Friday

Another Gene Gerrard laughter-rais-»r, this time with a Ruritanian setting, comes to the Regent on Friday, with the 8.1. P. star as an illustrious but lhard-up monarch of Karaslavia. Gus McNaughton, who gives a lively portrayal of Hudson E. Greener of Boston, the King's right hand man, suggests a little transacting with the Crown Jewels, and the two, with much relief and the Karaslavian bodyguard, repair to England. Here adventures follow thick and fast with Gene under the incognito of "Mr Abdullah,” and Gus invited to a Duke's country house party, where they are suspected of being a couple of crooks (the suspicion greatly enhanced by the latter's enthusiasm for combining pleasure and business and profusely displaying the Crown Jewels) and Gene making passionate love to the Duke's daughter, Moira. Matters are further complicated by the arrival of two loyal Karaslavians who lurk in the grounds awaiting an opportunity . to avenge their motherland and shoot the king. In addition to Gene Gerrard and Gus McNaughton, the cast also contains Molly Lamont, as the lovely Lady Moira; Speneer Trevor, as the irate Duke; Hal Gordon, lan Flemming and Tonie Bruce,
