These figures are understood to apply under what may be considered normal conditions. The type and condition of the road surface, its dryness or wetness, the efficiency of the brakes in relation to tho weight of the car and the condition of the tyres are among the factors which affect stopping ability. Thep presume inability to leave the traffic lane.
