The Empire Day celebration in Sydney to-day was marked by an impressivo ceremony in Martin Place in the vicinity of the Cenotaph. The enthusiasm commenced when Governor Game appeared. As ho mounted the platform cheer upon cheer burst from ten thousand people only to be renewed in increasing volume when he began to speak. A resolution pledging citizens to eat, drink, wear and use Australian and Empire products was carried with enthusiasm.

Prominent citizens as well as Ministers of the Crown and religion and tho judiciary addressed the gathering. The police band led the signing. Mr. Schmitt, New Zealand Government Commissioner was among thoso present. Tho visiting English Rugby League footballers placed a wreath on the Cenotaph as did the officers of the visiting Japanese training squadron.
