RIFLE CLUB. From Our Own Correspondent. On Saturday the fourth shoot for Mr. A. Stackhouse’s trophy was fired for by the local rifleman at 200 aud 300 yards. The results are as follow: D. Banks, 46 —45 —( —)91; O. Jensen, 47—44 —() —91; D. G. Jensen, 42 — 43—(5) — 90; H. Gatchell, 43—43—(4) — 9O; W. Edney, 42 —3S — (10) — 90; A. Whitehead, 40 —4.1— (9) — 90; A. Stackhouse, 41 —42—(6) —89; E. W. Beard, 45—39 —(2) —86; A. Luxmoorc, 34 2S —(IS)—SO. GOLF. On Saturday afternoon there was-a fair attendance of members at golf when a bogey match was played. Alter* noon tea, served by the ladies, brought the afternoon to a close. FOOTBALL. On Saturday afternoon tho Apiti Football Club visited Kirnbolton to play tho third game in tho first round of the cup competitions. After a very exciting game the score resulted in a draw, 3 all. EUCHRE AND DANCE. On Saturday evening the Kirnbolton Library held a euchro party and dance in aid of its funds. Thero was a large attendance at euchre and as the evening went on there was a fair attendance of dancers. The prizes for the cucfiro were won by: Ladies, Mrs. Ncilson 1, Mrs Petersen 2; men, W. Knox 1, A. Smith 2. The box of chocolates was won by Mr. \V. S. Waugh. The music for the dancing was supplied by Mrs. Shaplcski and Mr. W. J. Hansen. Extras were played by Miss Bunbury and Mr. J. Cawood. Air. W. E. Ferguson carried out the duties of M.C. PERSONAL. Miss Sheila McDonald, of Rauinai, who was the guest of Mrs. E. Richardson, returned to her home on Friday. Miss Jean Mitchell, of Palmerston North, returned home yesterday. Miss R. Rutherfurd, of National Park, is spending a few days with friends in 'Kirnbolton. Miss K. Crowe returned home on Saturday.
