Norsewood
From Our Own Correspondent. Mr. and Mrs. Brown, of Pakowhai, Hastings, have been the guests of Mr. and Mrs. F. J. Gaze. Much sympathy is felt locally with Mr. M. H. Ridge in the loss of his mother, news of whose death at Longton, Staffordshire, England, on April 3 last has been received. The late Mrs. Ridge was 76 years of age, Mr. M. H. Ridge being the only member of her family residing in New Zealand. The second of the series of socials organised by the young folk of Ngamoko was held on Friday night, and the popularity of these functions was evidenced by the large number, who attended. The music was supplied by-Mr. T. Haycock, of ptawhao, and after
various games and competitions dancing was kept up until the early hours of the n]orning. During the evening a spot waltz was won by kin K. Glecsoti and partner, while Mr. L. Forbes and partner carried of the prize for tho Monte Carlo waltz. Mr. E. Nielsen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Hans Nielsen, of German line, was a visitor to the township at the week-end. Mr. Nielsen was recently involved in a serious motor cycle accident and it at present convalescing.
