An Afternoon Wedding at Rongotea
GUST—TRENKNER One of the prettiest weddings witnessed in Rongotea for many yoars took plane on Wednesday at tho Lutheran Church, when Amy Ellen, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. Tronkner, of Rongotea, was married to Ernost, fifth son of Mr. and Mrs. A. Gust, of Bongotea. Tho weather was beautifully fine, and tho church, which had been decorated with autumn-tinted chrysanthemums and ferns by friends of tho bride, mado a charming setting for tho bridal party. The ceremony was performed by Rev. Mr. To Punga, of Halcombc, and Mrs. To Punga presided at tho organ. The bride, who entered the church on the arm of her father, was gracefully attired in a dainty frock of ivory satin havana, fashioned with a long, tightlyfitting bodice and fully flared skirt. Her beautiful veil, worn well off tho face, was caught at the sides with sprigs of orange blossom. Her shoes niitl "stockings were white, and sho carried a pretty bouquet of pale pink and white chrysanthemums and maidenhair fern. Two maids, Miss Hilda Gust, sister of tho bridegroom, and Miss lona Vockeling, cousin of the bride, were dressed alike in ankle-lengtli frocks of midnight blue satin lumincaux, with lemon felt hats, upturned from tho face on one side, with a spray of bluo flowers. Thov wore shoes of blue satin and stockings"'to tone with their hats, nnd carried bouquets of lemon and gold chrysanthemums, marigolds and maidenhair fern. . The bridegroom was supported by his two brothers, Mr. W. Gust and Mr. Eric Gust, as best man and groomsman respectively. Later the guests were entertained at the Broadway Lounge, Palmerston North, where Mrs. Trenkner received her guests, wearing a model frock of burgundy satin regal piped with fawn, and a black hat with a burgundy mount. Her posy was in shades to tone with her frock. The tables were prettily decorated with bowls of orange-toned Iceland poppies and autumn loaves, and the beautiful wedding cake which graced the bridal table had been made by Mr. Dustin, of Dustin’s, Ltd., Palmerston North, an old friend of the bride’s parents. After the usual toasts had been honoured the newly-married couplo left for Auckland, Mrs. Gust wearing a frock of bottle green wool crcpo de chine, her coat, with a fox fur collar, being of the same shade. She carried a beige handbag and wore shoes to tone. The handbag was a gift from tho bridegroom, whose gifts to the bridesmaids were handsome necklaces of amber.
