Car and Motor Cycle Collide

RIDER IN HOSPITAL ill-. R. P. Franklin, of Douglas street, was admitted to the Palmerston North Hospital last evening suffering from head injuries received in a collision between the motor cycle he was riding and a car driven by Mr. D. Niven, of Palmerston North. The accident occurred at the corner of Ferguson street and Milverton avenue at about 10 p.m. Mr. Niven did not see the motor cycle, but felt the machine strike the car as he was turning into Milverton avenue. The rider of the motor cycle was carrying Miss Myrtle Iloarc, of Knowles street, as a pillion passenger. Fortunately, she escaped serious injury, and after medical examination at the hospital was able to proceed to her home. Mr. Franklin’s condition is reported as satisfactory. ACCIDENT AT FEILDING A more serious accident occurred near Feilding last evening, as a result of which Mr. Alfred Alsop, aged 20, of Feilding, now lies in hospital suffering from injuries to his right leg, with his condition reported ns serious. It appears that Mr. Alsop was mending a puncture in a car tyre on the roadside when he was knocked down by a passing car.
