The girl put up a plucky light, and the assailant was captured after a chase. Seen afterward in hospital, Miss Yamalee was suffering badly from shock and loss of blood, and was hardly able to speak. None of her wounds was serious. >,She said that she had returned from a dance at the Italian Consulate accompanied by a British officer, who left her at the door. Her assailant, who is alleged to be a Mohammedan, Abdul Galfur, sprang at her with an open clasp-knife almost immediately after the officer left. Miss Yamalee first kept him off by kicking, and her feet were badly slashed. Then she came,, to grips with the man, causing the clasp-knife to close, which inflicted wounds on his hands. The assaillant ran oIT, divesting himself of his coat and throwing away his knife. After running a short way he was captured by a number of people, who handed him over to the police.
