MONTHLY MEETING OF BOARD. The monthly meeting of the Palmerston North Hospital Board was held yesterday, Air J. K. Ilornblow (chairman) presiding. In connection with the question of taking nurses from the Wairoa hospital for training to fill vacancies on tho staff of the Palmerston North hospital, it wns agreed to leave the matter in tho hands of the chairman to confer with the Director-General of Health, with power to act. It was decided to congratulate the farm manager on the fact that the pork entry from tho Board’s farm had secured second prize on the London judging.
The Bank of New Zealand advised that tho Board could incur until Juno 30. 1932, an overdraft not exceeding £IO,OOO. The Hospital Boards’ Association advised that a conference of Boards would be held at Wellington on .Tunc 9. to consider recommendations by' the Wellington Bohrd for proposed changes in tho present sy'stem, hospital policy generally, and outdoor relief.
Tho executive was instructed to confer with the Friendly Societies regarding the hospital scheme of tho latter bodies and report to next, meeting of the Board.
