At tho Australian tennis championships, in tho final of tho men’s singles Crawford (New South Wales) retained the title after a gruelling battle with Hopman (Victoria) 4—6, 6—3, 3—6, 6-3, 6-1. In tho junior singles McGrath (New South Wales) beat Quist (South Australia) o—4, 6—2. In the women’s singles Mrs. Buttsworth (New South Wales) beat Miss lo Mcsurier (South Australia) 9 —7, 6—4. The final of the mixed doubles saw Crawford and Mrs. Crawford beat Satoh and Mrs. O’Hara Wood 6—3, 8 —6, 6—3. In the women’s doubles Mesdamos Crawford and Buttsworth boat Misses lo Mcsurier and Weston (South Australia) 6—2, 6—2. In the men’s doubles Crawfbrd and Moon beat Patterson and Hopman 4 — 6, 6—t, 12—10, 6—3.
