Foxton Talkies
That scrubbing iloors may be both the penalty and reward of a mother’s sacrillco is convincingly shown by Dorothy Peterson, who plays one of the featured roles in “Mother’s Cry," the First National picture coming to the Foxton Talkies to-night. As “Mary, ’’ the anguished mother in this litoral adaptation of the famous Helen Grace Carlisle novel, Miss Peterson will be seen scrubbing floors and working in sweet shops because she loved her iirstborn too well but not wisely. “Mother’s Cry,” as directed by Hobart Henley, is a realistic drama founded on a happy American home which i 3 wrecked and reduced to chaos through the misdemeanors of a wayward son. Into the patternwork of this vital story Director Henley lias woven a. sublime note of supreme self-immolation which loses none of its brilliant beauty when sot against the picture’s lighter moments.
