SPECIAL ENGAGEMENT OF “KAZ BEGS’ TROUPE OF RUSSIAN COSSACKS.”

Surpassing all previous presentations, Messrs Wirtli Bros, have for this year’s tour of Australia and New Zealand set down for appearance the biggest offering of feature attractions ever seen in this part of the world. Keeping to their slogan ‘ 1 The Greatest Show on Earth,” Messrs Wirtli Bros, have engaged from all parts of the world acts that will thrill, entertain, amuse and astound all. Fresh from their triumphant tour of England and the Continent, the world-famed riders, “Kazbegs’ Troupe of Russian Cossacks,” appear in amazing feats of horsemanship. From the Caucasian Mountains, this.‘‘troupe of Cossacks” comes, and are seen in daredevil tricks on their fiery steeds. They are the identical Cossacks who defeated riders of all nations at the New York ltodeo in 1929. ‘‘The Cossacks” appear in cavalry rushes, military charges, pyramids at dizzy heights, and end their performance with a thrilling climax when ‘‘Fedia, ” the young Cossack, mounted on his horse, gallops around the ring. When his horse is going at top speed. ‘‘Fedia” climbs from his saddle around tho horso, over and under it, and betwee'n. tho beast’s forelegs. Nothing like this amazing feat has ever been attempted before. Messrs Wirth Bros, are under bond to tho Federal Government to return the Cossacks to their farms in Russia at tho expiration of their 12 months’ contract with Wirths’ Circus. In addition, tho famous equilibrists and balancers, “The Four Uesscms,” appear in stunts that are hair-raising. ‘‘The Uesscms” are aptly described as “the Boys who defy Gravitation;’'’ and they assert that even

“the bad times can’t upset them.” A special now attraction is tho aerial act beautiful, “Los Quatrc Hirondelles,” introduced by the “Four Misses Wirth.” In tho act, grace, charm and beauty are blended with thrills and sensation. Other features of the Circus will include “The Four Sylvesters,” clever juvenile acrobats, “The Sautey Duo,” presented by Mr. Geo. Wirth, junr., as “The Human Propeller,” Miss Gladys and her marvellous black stallion, “Bobs 2nd,” Miss Madeline, exquisite dancer and rider, Miss Doris and her wonder horse “Quecnie,” in specially selected poses, Miss Eileen and her sagacious elephants; “Mile. Spangllcletti, ” comedy trick rider; Mr. P. Wirth, junr., jockey act; “The performing brown and polar bears,” imported at a cost of £SOOO. As usual “everything is coming; wo never divide,” and patrons can look forward to an exceptional treat of viewing Wirths’ mighty show of 200 people, wild, animals, etc. The box plan may be viewed at tho Circus ofiiec on tho day of the show. Watch for the parade of “The Cossacks” through the streets of your town on the day of the show. Wirths’ Circus will appear at Palmerston North on Wednesday, January 27, for one night only. In tho afternoon, from 4 till 5, Wirths’ zoo of 15 cages of wild animals will bo open for inspection when all tho animals arc being fed. Parents should bring their little ones to seo tho lions, tigers, bears, cubs, leopards, monkeys, elephants, horses, zebras, etc., as it is highly educational, interesting, instructive and amusing.
