The pressure is about normal in the North Tasman Sea, but a series of low pressure waves extends from Tasmania to southern New Zealand. Winds: Mainly between westerlies and north-westerlies, moderate to strong generally and at times reaching gale force in Cook Strait. Seas (New Zealand waters): Rough on the West Coast and in Cook and Fovcaux Straits; elsewhere smooth to moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea: Winds mainly north-west to west, strong in the southern portion and moderate in the northern; seas moderate to rough. Weather: Fair to fine at first, with rising temperatures; later showery in western and far southern districts, but moro especially on the West Coast of the South Island.
