PERRY CHAMPION IN THREE CLASSES, HARD PRESSED BY BOROTRA United Press Association.—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright. PARIS, Jan. 3. Perry became a triple champion at the international Christmas tournament, defeating Borotra in the final of the singles, 3—6, 7 —5, 6—l, 6—3. Partnered with Boussus, he defeated Peret and Bernard in the doubles, 6 —4, 6 4, 6—3; and with Mile. Sigart, the Belgian champion, he won the mixed doublo Borotra forced Perry to the utmost exertions before the Englishman was victorious. South Island Championships Per Press Association. TIMARU, Last Night. The South Island tennis championships concluded to-day in changeable weather. The morning was fino and hot, but the sky was overcast in the afternoon, with a little rain falling, but not sufficient to stop play. A largo gallery witnessed the various finals, which were productive of high-class tennis. Results are as follow: — Men’s singles: W. G. Robertson (Timaru) beat W. E. Renton (Timaru) 6 —3, 6 —2, 6 —2. Men’s doubles: W. E. Renton and B. Souter (Christchurch) beat E. G. Boddy (Dunedin) and B. Loughnan (Christchurch) 6—2, 6 — 4, 6—2. Women’s singles: Miss M. Wake (Christchurch) beat Miss M. Gibson (Timaru) 6 —2, 4—6, B—6.8 —6. Women’s doubles: Misses M. Wake and B. Gould (Christchurch) beat Misses M. Gibson and D. Hart (Timaru) 6—2, 6—4. Mixed doubles: W. G. Robertson and Miss M. Gibson beat B. Loughnan and ,Miss M, Wake B—fi, A~6, 1. —5. ■'
