For the Ainslie Shield the scores were:— Palmerston North: A. Wilson, Morris, Boon, Baylis (s) 14 v. Manawatu: Page, Gilberd, King, Radford (s) 16; Palmerston North: Hine, Killick, Simmons, Paton (s) 22 v. Manawatu: Shand, Gerrand, Barnes, Kershaw (s) .18. Palmerston North thus retained th» shield by 36 points to 34. Takaro Cup. Palmerston North had w*on the Takaro Cup from Terrace End last week but lost it to Levin yesterday by a narrow margin. Scores arc as follow: Levin: Clements, Clark, Bull, Suhan (s) 21 v. Palmerston North: Giorgi, Croad, Sparrow, Ross (s) 19.
