Enjoyable Evening Party Held at Foxton
HELD AT FQXTON. Tlie Masonic hall was most artistically decorated with greenery, coloured balloons and streamers on Wednesday evening, when Mr. and Mrs. D. Ball entertained a largo number of friends, including visitors from Wellington, Palmerston North and tho Hutt. The evening was taken up chiefly with dancing and cards and a thoroughly enjoyable time was spent. Coloured hats, streamers and confetti added greatly to the fun and gaiety of tho party. During the evening a spot waltz competition was held, the winners being Mr. E. Coley and Miss B. Wishart. A "parcel competition” was also held and was won by Miss M. Smith. The musie for dancing was supplied by Mr. J. Newton, extras being played by Mr. W. Walklcy (P.N.) and Misses M. Moore and N. Woods. Much appreciated elocutionary items were contributed by Mr. B. Hinds, who gave an impersonation of tho Yorkskireman, and Mr. S. J. Harvey, whoso item was entitled “I Forget.” The 1 accompaniment in tho latter case was played by Miss Patteison. At a later stago a tasty suppor was handed round by the host and hostess ■ assisted by friends. At a suitable juncture Mr. L. C. . Bryant, on behalf of thoso present, ■ thanked Mr. and Mrs. Ball for the de- i lightful evening provided. 1 "Musical honours were then accorded 1 the host and hostess, in response to which Mr. Ball suitably replied. 1
