A largo und enthusiastic gathering of parents was held in the hall to make arrangements for the annual fancy dress ball of the Clydesdale school. It was unanimously decided to hold the ball on Friday, October 2. A strong ladies' working committee was set up to make full arrangements for carrying out the entertainment. This year prizes will bo awarded for fancy, costumes and the judging will be carried out by* outsiders. . Good music has been engaged and it is hoped a large crowd will turn out, as the proceeds go towards the annual school picnic and. prize-giving fund. In keeping with the times the prices of admission have boon reduced, and there will be no charge at the door for children.
Her friends will regret to learn that it was found necessary for Mts. F. J. Thompson to enter hospital, and will wish her a speedy recovery. Miss Nancy Scott is the guest of Mr. and Mrs. D. McGregor, of ilanghvahia. There passed away on Monday evening at “Pukemarara,” Carnarvon, Mac, the youngest son of Mt. and Mrs. J. H. Russell and grandson of Mr. and Mrs’. James McKclvic. After an illness of short duration, and despite skilled medical attention and ..nursing, tho young sufferer gradually sank and passed away. Sincere sympathy is ei-tcnded to the bereaved parents and relatives in the severe loss they have sustained.
