Admission to Theatres And Wages “Cut”

Per Press Association. I AUCKLAND, Ang. 17. Asserting that the reduction in wages had not been reflected in reduced prices of admission to theatres and picture shows, the Auckland front of the house employees applied to the Arbitration Court‘to-day for exemption. For the employers it was stated that the depression had been reflected in the lower takings. The manager of a suburban theatre said it was impossible, much as they might wish, to reduce admission prices below a shilling for adults and sixpence for children. If the theatres reduced prices below those figures tho film exchanges would refuse to supply them and they would be forced .to close down.
