Public Korero

WEDNESDAY NEXT. The bos plan opens at 10 o’clock today at the Central Booking Office for tho Manawatu Savage Club’s Public Korero in aid of the. Central Rclier Funds, which is to be held at the Opera House on Wednesday evening nest. This is only the second occasion on which the club has come before the public, many of whom will remember the excellent programme which was submitted a few years ago. The club is now even stronger in regard to talent, and Wednesday’s programme has been framed with the object of presenting as varied an entertainment as is possible. The Savage Orchestra, which is of a very high standard, will play the overture and entr’acts. The opening scena will be a typically Savage one, embodying a ha'ka and the presentation of captives to the chief, who decrees that they be disposed of in dramatic fashion. The play “Sheik Fever” is quite new to local audiences, and is produced with the assistance of Savage J. W. Davidson as interlocutor, and of Savages G. Remington, J. Pearson, A. Eising and W. Hooker as caste. The Savage Pierrots (Savages H. Gregory, H. G. Seeker, C. F. Cronin, C. J. Roberts, A. Eising, B. Bowater, J. Dinley and C. W. Tippett) will add considerably to tho enjoyment of the evening, and a novel marionette stunt by Savages F. A. Wollerman, E. Jensen, E. Seeker, R. W, Browning, J. Dash, T. P. Hart and B. Bowater, is very humorous. Rangatira B. J. Jacobs and Savage T. Simpson will be heard in new numbers, and will be assured of a hearty welcome, while Savages C. R. Luke aud F. A. Wollerman will contribute solo items. The thought-transference exhibition of Savages A. Hutchins and J. R. Jeromson is always an item which excites the interest of their audiences. It is safe to predict that a capacity house will result, and early booking is advisable.
