Serious Rioting in German Streets

COMMUNISTS CAUSE TROUBLE.

United Press Association.—By Electris Telegraph.—Copyright. Received Wednesday, 7 p.m. BERLIN, Aug. 12. Street fighting has resumed, Communists (one of whom was critically wounded) sniping the police irorn housetops. A threat, to murder tho police commander was painted on the roadway. Revolver shots fired at a torchlight procession at Cologne started serious rioting in which Communists were engaged, necessitating police intervention. The latter fired high in order to scatter the rioters, some of whom replied with revolvers.

The casualties are not yet known, but are believed to be heavy. Many arrests wero made, but tho firing continues.

The public is in a state of terror, but tho police say the situation this morning is in hand.
