INTENSIFYING HATRED CAMPAIGN IN INDIA

Europeans Protest to Britain

INDIA’S NEW FLAG United Press Association. —By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright. Received Sunday, 9.0 p.m. CALCUTTA, Aug. 9. The leaders of tho European groups in the Legislative Assembly and tho Bengal Legislative Council have cabled Messrs. Ramsay MacDonald, Stanley Baldwin and Lloyd George, stating that the declared policy of certain Congress leaders is to force the Round Table Conference to agree to secession from the Empire, under threat of terrorism. They declare that Congress has employed tho interval since the Delhi agreements to intensify tho hatred of Europeans. They ask the British leaders to consider tho formation of a National Government to control tho destinies of India during the period of transition.

The Congress committee at Bombay has chosen a national ilag for India, composed of saffron to represent courage and sacrifice, white for peace and truth, green for faith and chivalry, with the charka or spinning wheel in the centre as the hope of the masses.
