REACHES LOWEST POINT FOR 31 YEARS. United Press Association.—By Eloctric Telegraph. —Copyright. Received Sunday, 9.30 p.m. CHICAGO, Aug. 8. One of the most sensational falls in the price of cotton occurred at the Board of Trade here to-day when the commodity dropped 156 points or 780 cents per bale, the lowest level for 31 years. Upon the Government estimate this year’s crop will total 15,584,OCO bales against 13,932,000 bales in 1930. October options closed at 6.84 cents per pound compared with 8.17 yesterday.
