Merrymakers’ Dance Club
Surely they are a unique family at the Palmerston North City Baud practice room iu their devotion to music and everything pertaining to the welfare of the band. Tho City Band, although only a few months old, is becoming well-known because of its welcome appearances on public occasions. Now they have inaugurated tho Merrymakers’ Dauco Club, organised by a strong and energetic committee on behalf of tho City Band uniform and instrument fund. A season of ten dances has been arranged closing w r ith a fancy dress carnival. Dresses for the carnival dance will be provided free to members by tho City Band committee. No charge will be made for membership, but members must adhere to the rules of tho club, which will bo explained at the first dance to bo held in the Cosmopolitan hall on Tuesday evening, August 11. Music will bo provided by the Merrymakers’ Dance Bond. The supper arrangements in the hands of the ladies’ committee, will be of the usual high standard supplied by tho City Band. Tho committee are sparing no expense to guarantee tho success of the Merrymakers’ Club anil dance patrons of the club are assured of a dance unsurpassed in tho history of Palmerston North.
