Agitator Prince Attacked

BERLIN, July 18. In serious night rioting at Gelsenkirchen, a hotbed of Communism, the Reds dramatically seized control of three streets and, at a pre-arranged signal, smashed the street lamps of the entire district. Thirty shops were plundered and. about 100 shots were fired, but it is believed that the casualties wero small. The police were held at bay and decided to give up tho attack. They therefore placed a cordon around the district, with the intention of attempting to clear the streets at dawn. Purther rioting has occurred at Dusseldorf, Coblenz and Darmstadt, where the police have the upper hand. The ex-Kaiser’s son, Prince August Wilhelm, became involved in a street fight in Hamelin, the legendary town of the “Pied Piper," where he was to have spoken on behalf of the Hitlerites. A hostile crowd gathered and protested angrily against the appearance of a Hohenzollern as a public speaker. Nazi supporters of the prince then attempted to disperse the assembly by means of violence, and so started a struggle that lasted until early morning.
