No Bread tor Sydney's Unemployed

BAKERS REFUSE TO SUPPLY CONTRACTORS. United Press Association.—-By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright. Received Monday, 9 p.m. SYDNEY, Aug. 3. Many unemployed in the metropolitan area wore unable to secure their dole of bread to-day owing to the master bakers’ refusal to supply Shadler’s Limited, who last week were given the Government contract to provide relief bread. Half a million loaves weekly are required and the company are to receive 3s lid per dozen for small loaves from the Government and pay the bakers 3s Bd. The latter declare the bread cannot be prcduced at this price and refuse to supply it below 4s 3d. The people to-day had to pay 5d cash and those without money were not supplied.
