Resistance to the flow of battery current can be reduced by keeping the top of the storage battery clean. The fumes which the battery gives off in charging causes tho formation of a greenish, corrosive deposit around the battery posts and between the terminals. This offers a high resistance to the current and the battery loses efficiency. This resistance often is great enough to increase the generator voltage to such an extent that the headlamp bulbs will burn out. Careful scraping of tho terminals, washing them in a soda solution, and then coating them with vaseline will restore their electrical efficiency.
