SQUALLS DO CONSIDERABLE DAMAGE. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, Last Night. The long spell of wintry weather culminated in a severo storm in Auckland over the week-end. Yesterday and today a westerly gale was blowing with frequent fierce squalls accompanied ‘iy hail, while there were two severe thunderstorms. Borne of the squalls were the worst experienced in Auckland and several doors and windows were blown in, whilo extensive minor damage was done. A shop verandah at St. Hclicr’s collapsed, bringing down tho telegraph lines. A coal hulk broke adrift from its moorings in the harbour this afternoon, but it vras secured after it had been blown some distance down the harbour.
