Grim Vengeance
EXECUTIONER’S DEATH.
LONDON, April 25. A grim story of murder for vengeance is recalled by the death at Mekues, Morocco, of the Foreign Legionary, Leon Konradi, since identified as the self-styled executioner of the Soviet diplomat Vorowsky at Geneva, on May 10, 1923. „ . , , , Konradi was born in Switzerland, and emigrated to Russia with his parents. His father "was a chocolate manufacturcr in Moscow when the revolution broke out. The victims of the Bolshevik TGign of terror included Konradi’s two young sisters, shot down by assassins. KonRadi escaped, and swore vengeance. He shot Vorowsky and disappeared. Like many other “white” Russians, ho joined the Foreign Legion. The French authorities did not suspect his identity. The only official statement at the headquarters of the second regiment at Mekues was that Konradi enlisted some years ago and proved an excellent soldier. He died in a military hospital.
