Mayoral Election

To the Editor. Sir, —Tho relative merits of Messrs. ! Hansford and Eliott have been the subject of letter-writers in the press, and no doubt both gentlemen have claims for support for the high office of Mayor. There is to my mind very much significance in the fact that Messrs. McLeod and Hodgcns, two councillors, arc on Mr. Hansford’s committee, likewise ex-Councillors Canton and Jackson, while Councillor Tremaine acted as chairman for him at his West End meeting. It makes one wonder why no councillor associated on the council with Mr. Eliott has joined forces with him to assist him to won the coming Mayoral election. —I am, etc.. * CURIUS.
