Must Find Better Way of Governing

NEW STATE IN NORTHERN NEW SOUTH WALES. Received Tuesday, 7.50 p.m. SYDNEY, April 7. A hundred and fifty delegates of the northern portion of New South Wales assembled at Maitland town hall and adopted a draft constitution for a new federal unit to be called New England. Speeches emphasised that the movement was duo to misgovernment, chiefly by New South Wales and repudiation of national obligations. Doctor Earl Pap;e, M.P., the outstanding figure in the new State movement, declared: “Wo have to find a letter way of governing ourselves because the existing way has brought shame and dishonour.’’
