Motor Cyclist Killed In Collision With Car

TRAGEDY NEAR HAWERA. Per Press Association. HAWERA, Last Night. William Henscn, of l’atea, aged about 55, a wharf labourer, was killed instantly on the Manawapou river bridge, on tho main south road shortly beiore noon when tho motor cycle he was riding collided with a car driven by a Maori, J. Rowe, of Patca, who was proceeding to the Hawcra trots with two companions. Rowe states that the car was first on the bridge and stopped. When Rowe approached from the other side Hansen seemed to loso control of the cycle swerving and striking the mudguard of the car.

Hansen was thrown against tho metal hoodwork and received terrible head injuries. He was returning alone to Patca from To Roti near Hawcra, where he spent the week-end with his wife.
