Hurled to Death
ACCIDENT WITH A JIGGER Per Press Association. GISBOURNE, April 6. Through his coat becoming entangled in the wheel of a motor Jigger on which he was travelling across a viaduct between Otoko and Eakauroa, a railway surfaceman, John Clement Windle, aged 35, was dragged off the vehicle and cast to death 55 feet in a creek below. An inquest was held, at the conclusion of which the Coroner returned a verdict that the death was accidental, and that no blame was attachable to anyone.
