Winds: Variable with moderate westerlies to southwcstcrlics prevailing and freshening at times in Cook and Foveaux Straits. Seas (New Zealand waters): Smoot! to moderate. Tasman Sea: Light to moderate variable winds with smooth ,_to moderate seas in the Eastern Tasman. Weather: Fair to fine generally but some showers at times in the western districts of the South Island and about Fouveaux Strait. Cold night temperatures.
