Where Is Roihermere?
BEAVERBROOK HAILS ANOTHER MILLENNIUM! Received Monday, 10.20 p.m. 1 LONDON, March 30. The Morning Post welcomes the entente and says Lord Beaverbrook and tho Conservatives may look forward with confidenco to the end of a disastrous Government. The Daily Telegraph asks if Lord Rothermore (Daily Mail) is among the friends with whom Lord Beaverbrook consulted, and whether Lord Bothermere is prepared to co-operate with the Conservatives.
The Daily Herald (Labour) charac terises it as “Beaverbrook’s sensational surrendor.”
The Daily Express (Lord Beaverbrook’s paper) says: “A message will go out to tho Dominions: ‘You will nover come to us again as in 1930 and be turned empty away.’ Whilo tho farmers of Britain will not be used merely as a bargaining pawn with the Dominions, every measure will be taken to protect the farmers from unfair competition. Tho policy enunciated to-day will amount to a national cause, ’ ’
The Daily Mail (Lord Rothermore’s paper) does not comment on the an nouncement.
