CANADIAN CAKE. (Recommended.) Three-quarters cup of dates, soaked in three-quarters cup of cold water, with 1 teaspoon of baking soda, Jrlb. butter, 1 cup sugar, 2 eggs, 2 full cups flour, handful of chopped walnuts. Cream, butter and sugar, eggs, add dates and water, flour and rrtfts. Bake in meat dish for three-quarters of an hour. Ico on top.
