UNCONTROLLED RACE IN FEDERAL HOUSE
SYDNEY, Dee. 18,
The Sydney Morning Herald and the News-Pictorial describe the sceno in tho Federal Parliament last night as the most disgraceful ever witnessed. Mr Fenton’s opening worth* were received with uproar. Opposition members shouted, “This is the -worst job that has ever been put over here.” Mr Green said: “It is a bare-facod robbery.” Mr Parkhill: “It is a\n absolute swindle.” Mr Gullctt: “And a public scandal.” Tho Chairman of Committees vainly called for order. The 'disorder bocamc overwhelming. Mr Fenton resumed his scat. Up&u his continuing later a remauk about the Mungana leases caused a violent storm. The Speaker abruptly left the chair, and tho scene culminated when Mr Theodore and Mr Latham camo to grips and struggled, while many of their colleagues formed an excited ring around them. All senso of decency was lost in uncontrolled rage.
