Parents’ and Pupils’ Evening at Rongotea
On Saturday evening last Miss E. Hansen, L.A.8., A.T.C.L., gave a very enjoyable party at her residence, Carnarvon, for her pupils and their parents, about 40 people being present. Mrs Hansc-a received tho guests wearing black satin, while Miss Hansen wore green georgette with silver shoulder trimmings. A musical programme was very successfully rendered by tho pupils, other items being rendered by Misses B. and M. Foster (vocal duet), Dorothy Mathison (songs) and Joyce Caverhill (recitation). Several beautiful xnanoforte selections were also played by Miss Hansen. Competitions were indulged in, the prize winners being Mrs Giles senr., Mrs Caverhill, Miss E. Rose, Mr R. A. Buchanan and Mr R. R. Pearson. A very enjoyable supper was then served after which Mr H. N. Caverhill, on behalf of the pupils, presented Miss Hanson with a handsome xylonite brush, comb and tray, and congratulated her on attaining her L.A.'B. He then thanked Mr and Mrs Hansen for their hospitality and a very pleasant evening was brought to a close with the singing of <£ Auld Lang Syne.”
