The schooner Brooklyn outward bound, timberladen struck the notorious bar and reef off Eureka, California and was overwhelmed and lost with the whole crew of nineteen. EUREKA, California, Nov. 8. During a. gale eighteen men aboard the lumber schooner Brooklyn met death when they attempted to steam out of Humboldt Harbour late on Saturday. The little schooner bowled over md sank. Two mountainous waves struck her simultaneously at the entrance to the harbour and the vessel sank in live minutes.
