Basketball Tourney
Per Press Association. HASTINGS, Last Night. The basketball tournament was continued this afternoon in beautiful weather. Results: —* Section 1: Hawke’s Bay beat Wairarapa 25—19, Taranaki beat South Canterbury 19 —7, Auckland beat Southland 13—12. Section 2: Canterbury beat Marlborough 26—13, Wellington beat Otago IP—ii, Poverty Bay beat Manawatu 9—5. The section points are Auckland and Wellington 10 each, Otago and Southland each nil, Hawke’s Bay'and Canterbury 6 each, Poverty Bay 4, Wairarapa 3, Taranaki 2, South Canterbury, Marlborough and Manawatu 1 each. The first four teams play off to-mor-row. In the afternoon the North and South Island" match will be played.
