PERSONALITIES
A MAN OF THE TUBE. Eoley E, Hatch, horn in Mastcrton hut domiciled in Palmerston North lor some years past, is a prominent personality in racing circles. Tor many years ho was one of the most successful jockeys in the Dominioin on one occasion heading the list of winning jockeys with eighty-four successes. When he retired from the saddle, Eoley followed in the wake oi many other successful riders and established himself as a trainer. His stables at Awapuni have housed many turi speedsters, and this year he had both good and bad luck with Hymestrason, which after winning two big events over .the .sticks in Wellington .and showing promise for bigger things at Christchurch next week, met with an accident which ended his career. Besides trainng horses E.H. has shown that lie is a wise guide for budding horsemen, among his recent successes in this direction being Tommy Green and Keith Voitre.
