“Cameo Kirby” Brings Romances of the South
The greatest story of the Mississippi river over written, “Cameo Kirby,” produced as a romantic musical drama, will bo the attraction at the Dc Luxe on Saturday. Two great Broadway musical stars, J. Harold Murray and Norma Terris, are co-starred and arc surrounded by an all-star cast which includes such wellknown players as Myrna Lay, Douglas Gilmore, Robert Edeson, Stcpin Fctchit, Charles Morton and George MacFarlanci It tells of the colourful love affair between Cameo Kirby, a river boat gambler, and Adcle Randall, the aristocratic daughter of a wealthy Louisiana planter. Music of operetta quality is an outstanding feature. Tho songs include “Romance,” “After a Million Dreams,” “Home Is Heaven,” “Tankard and Bowl,” and “I’m a Peaceful Man” (sung by Stcpin Fctchit), and all reveal unusual talent in the composers. At least four of them undoubtedly arc headed for the bcst-scllcr list.
