ITALY SIGNS TRADE TREATY WITH SOVIET

Expectations of Better Business CHEAPER SUPPLIES OF PETROL AND COAL United Press Association.—By Electrll Telegraph.—Copyright. Received Monday, 9 p.m. LONDON, Aug. 4. Italy and the Soviet have signed a commercial treaty according to tho Times’ Romo correspondent. Tho terms are not yet published, so it is impossible to say whether tho document goes beyond tho long series of commercial agreements with Germany which were signed recently. Tho treaty, however, marks tho beginning of more intense economic collaboration between Italy and tho Soviet Government. The announcement followed a cordial meeting between Mussolini and the Soviet Commisar. The newspapers are of the opinion that the treaty will enable Italy to purchase more cheaply petrol, coal and other minerals at present imported from distant markets.
