Not Stranded

INDIGNANT LEAGUERS. Received Tuesday, 2 a.m. SYDNEY, Aug. 4. A conference of Rugby League representatives, including tho New Zealanders, was held to-night concerning the welfare of tho game. The New Zealanders directed attention of the evening newspaper statement that they were likely to be stranded. Mr. Ferguson, their manager, cm. phatically denied the allegation. It was also stated that the New Zealanders’ return fares were guaranteed before they left home. Mr. Savage complained that such were derogatory statements and a committee was formed with the idea of trying to stop detrimental propaganda. Mr. Clayton declared: “Any . team that comes hero under the auspices of the New South Wales Leaguo is not likely to be stranded.”
