Seas (New Zealand waters): Heavy north of East Cape and becoming rough generally in New Zealand waters. Tasman Sea: Strong north winds to gale in the eastern Tasman Sea with generally rough seas; later, winds changing to southerly. Weather: Unsettled, cloudy and misty with general rain developing; many heavy falls and later much snow' in the South. Temperatures mild at first.
