AUSTRALIA’S MATCH AGAINST GLAMORGAN DELAYED BY RAIN

To-day’s cricket match between Australia and' Glamorgan at Swansea was delayed by rain till 4.15 p.m. Tho teams were:— Australia: Ponsford, Jackson, Fairfax, Bradman, McCabe, Richardson, Wall, Walker, Grimmctt, A'Beckett,' Hu r wood. Glamorgan: Turnbull, Clay, Bates, Bell, E. Davies, D. Davies, E. Dyson, Every, Hills, Mercer, Ryan. Jackson started splendidly and with Ponsford seemed comfortable on an easy wicket. They punished the bowling freely, though each survived a leg before appeal from Mercer. Fitty ■was shown on the board in 40 minutes. At 93 Ponsford was dismissed trying to turn a ball to leg. Bradman was wildly welcomed by the keen Welsh crowd when he joined Jackson the other hero of tho big partnership in the previous match, but two runs later Jackson 1 was nicely caught at line leg after a sound and cautious innings lasting $3 minutes. McCabe replaced Kippax who was suffering from a strained back. It is not serious but requires rest. Bradman treated Mercer with caution at iirst, but later hit him about freely. McCabe found the veteran troublesome. Towards the close of the play the pair added 51 in 40 minutes when stumps were drawn, The inclement weather has caused nearly 90 hours’ delr.v already during the tour.
