Three Motor Fatalities
Driver Arrested in Wanganui Smash EX-PALMERSTON lAN IS THE VICTIM DRIVER ARRESTED ON CHARGE OF DRUNKENNESS Per Press AssociationWANGANUI, Last Night. Harold Greytowu Rush, a married man with four children, was killed on Saturday evening when a bicycle he was riding collided with a service car driven by Cyril Augustus McAllister. Later McAllister was arrested on a charge of being intoxicated while in charge of a motor car.' The late Mr Rush was a native of Palmerston North, and was a brother of Mr Chas. S .Rush, formerly manager of the “Manawatu Daily Times.” He was employed as head ganger by the Railway Department in Wanganui, where ho had bceu living for about six years. The accident happened in the vicinity of Pitt, street and Somme parade. Mr Rush was cycling home from tho pictures atabout II p.m. when ho was run into by McAllister, who was not a service car driver in the ordinary sense, but was employed by one of tho service firms in driving a taxi around W unganui to pick up passengers. Ho will appear before the court this morning.
