“The Daddy of Them All”
The greatest score-getter irt the history of New Zealand Rugby was W. J. Wallace, who, in 1905, was termed by an English newspaper “ The Admirable Crichton of the world’s Rugby.” As a New Zealand representative, Wallace scored 367 points, com sisting of 34 tries, !11 conversions, 2 marks, 9 penalties and 2 field goals. His greatest present-day rival, Mark Nicholls, has scored 264 points to date.
