Mrs. Rowlands and the Misses Rowlands, of Wellington, are the guests of Mrs. Viggo Monrad. Miss E. Daniell, of “Mathon Lodge,” Masterton, has roturned from a visit to Palmerston North. l -s. Mitford is the guest of her father and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. White, of Komako. Mrs. Beardsall, Lower Hutt, is the guest of Mrs. H. A. Seifert, North street, Palmerston North. Miss Jean Harper, West street, Podding, is at present the guest of Dr. and Mrs. W. Becdic, Dannevirke. Mrs. R. Stevens, of Patea, is the guest of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Stevens, of Church street, Palmerston North. Miss Daisy Searle, formerly of Biinunythorpe, who has keen visiting friends here, returned to Wanganui ou Monday. Mrs. L. A. Elliott is returning to-day (Friday) to her home, West street, Peilding, after a brief' slay with friends in Wellington. Miss Marion Sandilands is expected to return to her homo “Ratanui,” Kiwitea, at the end of the week after a short visit to friends in Taranaki. . Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Reid and their infant daughter, of Horopito, Ohakunc, arrived at Makino on Wednesday for a short visit to Mr. and Mrs. Percy Siinpson. Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Petersen, accompanied by Miss Lilly Enevoldsen, intend leaving Palmerston North this week to take up. their future residence at Ashhurst.. Miss Eva Bridgeman, national chief counsellor in New Zealand for the Girl Citizens’ Movement, will arrive in Palmerston North on Monday next, and will spend three weeks at this centre. Miss Rankin and Mr. Hextall, who since the, beginning of the year have been relieving teachers at Makino school, arc leaving at the end of the week, Miss Rankin to act as relieving mistress at Dunolly, and Mr. Hextall as relieving master at Haleombe. Miss McDuff is arriving to-day (Friday) from Auckland to take up a permanent position as assistant mistress at the Makino school, while Mr. Withers, from the South Island, is now settling in at the school house and will take up his new duties as headmaster immediately. Mrs. John Simpson, “Eaki-raki,” Lee's Line, who a fortnight ago journeyed to Te Kuiti to attend her niece’s wedding, will return to Peilding on Saturday. Mrs Simpson and heT daughters (Mrs. H. E. Port and Miss Jessio Simpson) who accompanied her, wero the guests of Mr. and Mrs. W. Stringer during their stay at Te Kuiti.
