There are selections by the Hawaiian Quartet, and David Craven (baritone) will sing light ballads. The Two Magpies will amuse with their drolleries and, after novelty pianoforte solos by George Hanlon and C. Price Conigravo’s talk on ‘ln the Wake of Tasman,’ there will be a relay from 3LO Melbourne of popular band music, and variety items. Later in the,evening dance music will be taken from the Oriental. 2BL SYDNEY To-night’s presentation, S.O to 10.3 U. —Listeners will welcome the appearaanco of Mayne Linton and Nancye Stewart to-night in a play specially written for radio, and the songs by Clement Q. Williams will make a direct appeal to the music lover. In lighter vein, there are popular numbers by the Melody Maids. Claude Corbett will givo his sporting talk at 9.37.
PROGRAMME NOTES A particularly interesting item on this evening’s programme at IYA will be the song-cycle, ‘Gloria,’ composed by del Riego to words by Coleridge. This will be given by Mme. Mary Towsey and Mr. John Brcc. The song cycle is divided into live parts—Hope, Fullilment, Separation, Reunion and Loss. The Studio Trio will bo performing and violin solos will be played by Miss Ina Bosworth. Miss Hinemoa Kosicur (contralto) .will sing ‘Poet’s Life,' ‘By the Fireside’ and ‘The Willow Song,’ three excellent numbers which should receive adequate treatment by this artist. Mr. A. B. Chappell, ALA., will givo another of his interesting topical talks, and a gramophone Iccturcrccital by Mr. Karl Atkinson will be on ‘Stars of the Record World.’. 2YA is broadcasting on relay from Victoria College a debate by the Col-
lege Debating Society, the. subject being ‘That tho World Is Not Really Progressing.” This relay wilt no doubt prove to be as interesting and entertaining as any previously broadcast. For 3YA’s concert a bright programme has been arranged. Two very popular singers, the Dulcet Duo (Miss Nellie Lowe and Mr. A. G. Thompson), will be -heard in solos and duets. Two other vocalists will also be welcomed, Mrs. W. B. Harris and Mr. Sydney Andrews. Mr. George Titchcncr will recite, Mr. Harold Beck will play a 'cello solo (Popper’s ‘Gavotte’), and light items will be presented by the Studio Trio. The vocalists at 4YA will be Miss D. Carty, Miss M. liowden, Mr. J. Kennedy and Mr. J. Clark. Miss Tui Northey will recite. The instrumental side of the musical programme will be provided by tho 4YA Trio, with solos by Air. J. A. Wallace pviolin) and Airs. C. Drake (piano).
